Booked and paid for 6 pm parasailing. Got to shop at 6. All closed up and nobody answering phone
I have been on many many snorkel/scuba trip's. I am scuba certified and have traveled all over on drive trips. This was by far the worst snorkel experience of my life. We had a big family group, and most unexperienced or had never done it so they needed assistance. There was little to no assistance with gear, I ended up having to tell them everything they needed to know. (And apparently it wasn't enough, because I am not the person in charge of the operation...) The captain, Travis, was a pompous, arrogant, obnoxious jerk. So we had to put up with that ball of fun the whole time. I asked/begged the crew over and over and over if they could please watch out for my 61-year-old father who was snorkeling for the first time and they kept saying "he's fine" over and over and writing me off. I asked them to stick by him for the first few minutes to make sure he would be OK. I was not asking for much because it was a pretty much empty boat besides my family. Then they dropped him in the water and let the waves take him away to an entirely different scuba diving boat many yards away risking his life and had to go swim after him to rescue him. My dad was horrified, miserable, vomiting, and will literally never get in the water to snorkel again. We were never told of the conditions of the water and everyone got seasick because of how big the waves were; even people who are not susceptible to motion sickness. My dad and brother were throwing up off the side the whole time. I have never been on a trip where they didn't offer a complementary small snack and bottled water in this operation have nothing but a little flimsy paper cups, amateurs, and horrible attitudes. They even told us not to touch anything in the cooler and made jokes/mocked about how it was all for the crew. When we booked the trip they did not tell us to bring our own water/snacks. They dropped us in a crop of jellyfish and I got stung. They proceeded to joke and laugh the entire time while my family suffered and starved. Never use this operation for anything, they don't deserve your money and you risk having horrible time. Totally ruined a whole day of our vacation.
This crew was very helpful and kind enough to let our group from Amoray join then after our boat's engine broke down for a day. Thanks to them, I was able to finish my open water certification and then go back out to enjoy Molasses Reef as a certified diver. They provide a guide anyone can follow during the excursions, and since I was alone, I got to buddy with her.
The guide did a wonderful job of finding all sorts of creatures, including a nurse shark, moray eel, and stingray which was hiding in the sand.
I made two dive trips with them in one day.
Between dives, the crew offered to break down and set up your gear if you wanted. They also offered cookies when the diving was over.
I have not worked with a more professional service-oriented team in diving. You have earned a repeat customer. Mike and Rachel were spectacular. The boat captain even helped get the divers in the water. Rachel could tell us about every inch of the wrecks we visited and the captain gave a quick history lesson for each one as well. A serious and fun loving group of professionals. Thanks for the good times and accommodating an independent instructor and his student.
We did 6 dives in 3 days - all were just great! We were on the Sea Star with Captain Travis. He not only drove the boat well, but also took care of his passengers. He provided some cookies, gum, and water - all to help avoid seasickness. He gave me some hints on exchanging my tanks between dives, so I knew he was watching everyone as we geared up. He played great tunes, too - great for attitude and adventure! It was a great experience! I am a new diver and would definitely dive with Emocean Sports again!!
I would certainly dive with them again.
