First time visiting and was attracted to the All-U-Can-Eat Stone Crab on their street billboard! Stopped in around 5pm & there was only 1 patron besides me? I ordered the All-U-Can-Eat Stone Crab Claws at $75 per person, pricey but understood they are stone crab! (I called in advance to MAKE SURE they were fresh NOT EVER frozen? (I used to be a commercial stone crab trapper, so I know what FRESH IS) They serve you 5 at a time cold, the first round tasted pretty bland, so I asked to have them heated! The next heated plate was exactly the same, BLAND, (Stone Crab are VERY favorable when FRESH) After several plates i ordered snow crab & omg.. They were worse, grade B Chinese buffet type, rubbery, meat stuck in the shell and NO FLAVOR! Went back to stone and by this point I was waiting 10mins to get 3 Claws at a time now? The waiter saw I was empty and just avoided me? Aventually another waitress noticed I was empty for some time and offered to bring more! She leaned over and said; next time tell him to bring the next order immediately cause he is lazy!..All in all it was a terrible experience and the supposed FRESH CLAWS WERE NOT FRESH at ALL.... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE..... PERIOD!!!...
The churasco steak had a great flavor. Unfortunately that was the only redeeming feature of Ballyhoo's restaurant.
Web site will give you one price, but when you get there the don’t honor it, said there under new owner ship.
Great place to eat in the Keys! I've never been disappointed here! Great food and great service! The cheeseburger is so good and i love the home made ketchup!!
All you can eat crab is ridiculesly priced.
Menu prices for everything seemed rather excessive for the basic bar ambience offered. $38 for a 16 oz bone in ribeye..... ouch. My selected steak was $22, pricey but reasonable enough. Same steak would have been $12 -$18 at most Key Largo establishments.
I do not plan on a return visit and do not recommend it unless you just want a beer at the bar.
I would suggest the fish house so much better.
Interior was tired and not very clean. Waitress was attentive as I was her only customer.
Went to Sals Ballyhoos last night for the first time they switched ownership! This place was very quaint with fishing nostalgia all throughout the place. Service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious! Price was great and I will definitely go back again!
