We had a great experience with this company and Martin was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and gave us great fishing tips & locations. We caught our bait right off his dock and on we went. I was a little hesitant to rent from Pontoon George based on some of the reviews but I am glad we did. First off you can't beat the price. We rented the Olivia pontoon for two days with no problems what so ever. The motor was new so that was a plus. The actual pontoon itself is older but everything functioned as it should. It did not have a GPS but came with a map. No frills excellent price.
Don't expect nice beaches or sand bars. The bay is nice but if it's choppy. Don't go! The boats can't handle waves and will get you and everything on board wet if it's choppy. The boats are okay. Not the greatest but they aren't pieces of crap either.
We reserved a boat on 12/12/16. When we got there 1) they were 1 hour late 2) the boat we reserved was not available. A LARGE boat was available ( we wanted a small one). 3) The boat did not start. Miguel hooked it up to a battery charger. It would not take a charge. 4)they gave us another boat and sent the battery charger along with us, in case the battery did not stop when we wanted to return. 5) We got out of the boat at the island and realized that there was NO ladder to get back in the boat. 6) we complained when we returned and told them they should not charge us for gas. They charged us for 14 gallons of fuel. It should have been 2 gallons. 7) there were exposed staples on the upholstery. My had got cut from the staple, bleeding. 8) there were ants on the boat 9)Someone charged 2 FRAUDULANT charges on our credit card after we left there.
Always a great time. The boats are not Hinckley's and are definitely rough around the edges but they have always run fine and got us there and back without issue. If you want to grab a cooler and have a great afternoon for short money this is it.
My first time renting a boat and it was a terrible experience. We rented the from 8:30am to sunset. The boat was giving us Engine problems we couldn't go far due to that. We paid for a whole day. when we reached back I was charged $25 I told the guy it's sunset now and he said no no no you will pay the $25 because you had to ba back at 5pm I said sunset is at 6:30pm and it is exactly the time we got here...he was not budging he had us pay for the full trip,gas and a extra $25. He was very rude about the situation I will not be going back. Check out TripAdvisor for more bad reviews.
