As you can see by the pictures this hotel is disgusting. I wish I had taken a picture of our feet. They offered no comp in any way. Not even a $25 comp. I realize that it's not long after Irma and I'm sure everyone's patience have been tested but this is not the way someone should be treated when we are there to have a great time. I wish I had read the reviews so I could have been better prepared. There was no hospitality in this hotel!!!
Great location and views! Rooms are a bit dated and can have some interesting guests, but that’s to be expected at an affordable hotel in this locale. Overall, great location (across the street from Divers Direct and BofA and close to our dive shop) with some pretty epic sunset views. They have a pool and nice restaurant right next door. Room came with a decent sized refrigerator and microwave. Others people in our party had a full kitchen in their room.
Do not prebook this hotel. If you can afford a better hotel I highly recommend it. The location is in a bad area and made the girls I was traveling with feel unsafe. The check in staff was friendly and professional but when I went back in to cancel our stay at the hotel the staff was rude, unprofessional, and even lied straight to my face. Ended up just giving them the keys back and leaving even though we paid to stay there a couple days.
This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. It started with the reservation, when we knew we would be able to make it after my husbands back surgery. Grant it this was about a month after Irma so I was not expecting them to be 100%. Once I had the reservation I had to call and email several time to confirm we had the room at the wedding rate. We got that squared away. On the day of check in we got there at 3:30 with check in is at 3:00. We waited 1.5 hours and went back to see if the room was ready and our room still was not ready. We had driven 5.5 hours and I was concerned about my husbands back so I asked if they could change the room they said yes and that it was the handicap room which was perfect for him and his back. So we check in and the bathroom floor had a very slippery substance on it ( the black cotton balls and you can see the sheen in the floor) so we went to the office to see if they could have someone clean it, keep in mind this is a handicap room. Mean while I unpacked and started our weekend wedding fun, so I thought. We waited about 45 min and the a lady shows up and said she was going to move us out of the room to clean it and I said we did not want to move we just want the floor cleaned in the bathroom so that my husband did not have any issues getting in and out of the tub. She said no we had to move and I asked her why and she finally came clean and said that our room was "earmarked for a handicap person and clearly we were not handicap". So I said if you want us to move then ask us to move not some story that we had to move out so you can clear it she then said and I quote "ma'am I will not be spoken to in this way". I said in what way, questioning you and what your wanting and asked for a manager and she said "I am the manager and you will get no one else" and walked away. So after I cooled down somewhat I walked to the check in area because no one would answer the phone. There were guest checking in so as I was waiting the lady came back and stood in front of me behind the counter and proceeded to ask what I wanted and I said do you want to wait until the quest leave and she no that she would not be spoken to in my tone and I was not handicap. I said I did not book the room it was given to us and we would be happy to leave the room and move to our original room she started mumbling and walked away again. The lady who had check us in was trying so hard to help but by then I felt that I was being accosted. We had nothing to do with the room that they gave us but she was making out like we had stolen a room. I asked if they could help us move to another room, meanwhile all of our friends are getting together for dinner and we are trying to get our room. We waited another 30 min and just decided to move our thing without help and while we were moving I can hear the lady that is manager talking about us as if once again we had stolen the handicap room.
Clean room, super hot water was a plus...Air Conditioner was cold. Has your basic accommodations. I took a picture of the whole room, but the picture gets cropped and only shows the TV. In the picture you would have also seen a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, a small table with 2 chairs and a lamp.
This place was unbelievable. We checked in on November 18 , 2017. The room had such an overpowering smell which we found out later the cause but we were forced to stay in the room because they were sold out due to the race (otherwise we would have left completely). I wrote the manager and she came back with out right lies, fortunately we have everything documented as well as witnesses. Now from the oil based deodorant I am still coughing and feeling sick. I am contacting a lawyer and keeping track of the medical bills that are occurring. We were eventually moved to another room which did not smell. It's now been a couple of weeks and the manager still won't give me the supervisors contact information.
