This is seriously the best burger I've ever had. We stopped here randomly 2 years ago and I compare every burger to it and nothing has held up. I just stopped by again yesterday and this wasn't a Gatsby. It's still the best burger I've ever had.
Trip Advisor has ruined this place. The food is good and it is affordable, so I see why it is rated so high, but the fact is that it is a tiny little roadstand and they can't begin to keep up with the demand that the ratings have created. It is run out of an oversized closet by one woman, and another one wouldn't fit in there anyway. We went on a Thursday afternoon and she wasn't even taking orders at that point. She warned that there was a 45 minute wait and she wasn't kidding. She was frazzled and frustrated and doing her very best to keep up but she just couldn't. This place was never meant to be the second most popular eatery on Key Largo and unless the owners of the building make some investment into expansion and help, it will collapse under its own popularity. I really enjoyed the food but I won't be returning unless they expand becuase I just don't want to put that poor girl running it under any more stress.
Smoothies are good, however the woman making them was very rude. You'd think that when they have trip advisors stickers to review their business their employees would be nicer.
Janel, the cook, is the best! Really friendly and good with the food! We had the fish sandwich, fish basket, shrimp basket, conch fritters, and don't forget the key lime! She also made us feel at home:) Definitely a dive and worth it! Oh yeah, fish dip was also yummy!
